| Coach Scurry begins his first year with the Cougars as J.V. Boys’ basketball coach. Previous to that, he spent three seasons coaching the J.V. Boys’ at Bishop Manogue High School where he compiled an overall record of 60-10, including three league championships and two seasons of 22-1. Prior to that (1986-1997), Coach Scurry was at Reed High School where he spent time as both Boys’ J.V. and Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach. As J.V. coach for four seasons, Coach Scurry compiled an overall record of 72-13, including three league championships and a perfect season of 22-0. As Assistant Varsity Basketball coach and offensive coordinator for six seasons, Coach Scurry was part of four Zone Championship games and five State tournaments, winning the Zone Championship in 1994 and being a State Semi-finalist during the 1991 season. Coach Scurry grew up in the Reno-Sparks area graduating from Reed High School in 1978 and attending the University of Nevada, Reno. He has been with the Nevada Air National Guard for 28 years and is currently Superintendent of the 152d Intelligence Squadron. He has a daughter, Allie, who is a sophomore at the University of Nevada, Reno. |
