 | Coaching Record: 2007-08 Spanish Springs – 13-10 2005-06 McQueen – 15-12 2004-05 Wooster – 13-13 2003-04 Wooster – 10-16 | Kyle Penney begins his second year as boys’ basketball coach for the Cougars but will be in his fifth season as a head varsity coach. Penney spent two seasons as head coach at Wooster High where his team qualified for the play-offs both years. He was also named Sierra League Coach of the Year after his second season. He then spent the 2005-06 season as head boys coach at McQueen High school where his team again qualified for postseason play. Last season, Penney led to the Cougars to their first ever playoff appearance and once again was named High Desert League and Northern Region coach of the year. Prior to his head coaching duties, Penney spent time as head junior varsity coach at McQueen followed by one year of assisting the varsity at Spanish Springs. Coach Penney grew up in Yerington, Nevada and then went on to play four years of college basketball at NCAA Division II Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Penney is married to his wife of six years, Katie, and has two boys, Jacob 4, and Nathan, 3. |
